CityGirl Bakery & Market first opened its door to Mill Street in Danville, PA in November 2009.  Our goal was to bring a new flavor to the downtown, and a touch of the big city to people who’d been missing it.

I’m Holly Bagwell, the CityGirl, and I’m passionate about food.  I love to bake, love to cook, and LOVE to eat.  The best part about food, for me, is sharing it with others.  That’s why we all come to work everyday…to share delicious food with you.

When we first opened, we were simply a bakery and a coffee house, except there was nothing simple about it.  At 4am, we’d get to work at hand-making and shaping bread, rolling out croissant dough, and mixing muffin batter to bake just before the door opened.  If you’ve ever seen our barista make an espresso drink, you know that’s not simple either.  Everything we do is a craft, and we’re delighted to share that with the town of Danville.

Since opening we’ve added a full deli menu for lunch, and a small gourmet food market, including prepared foods to take home.  Our current plan is to provide an opportunity for our customers to eat CityGirl’s delicious food three meals a day.
